Fleeturio is not locked to anyone’s hardware. Any ELM327-compatible OBD-II adapter will do, and the only thing that decides compatibility is which radio it speaks. The driver’s phone reads BLE adapters; our module also reaches the Bluetooth Classic and Wi-Fi ones a phone cannot.
Plug a standard ELM327-compatible BLE adapter in under the dash and pair it once with the driver’s phone. Nothing is registered with us, nothing is locked to a brand, and the adapter moves to another car whenever you need it to.
The inexpensive adapters most people already own speak Bluetooth Classic, which a phone cannot use for this. Our module can, along with BLE and Wi-Fi adapters, and it reports with no phone in the vehicle at all, which matters for a car nobody is rostered to.
| Vehicle | Adapter | Reaches | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| Toyota Hiace | Bluetooth Classic | Module only | Connected |
| Kia Sportage | Wi-Fi | Module only | Connected |
| Toyota Camry | BLE | Phone or module | Connected |
The module we are building next carries its own GPS and its own cellular connection, so a vehicle reports position and engine data on its own: no driver phone, no separate tracker, no Wi-Fi to reach. It is in development and is not available to order yet.
BLE, often listed as Bluetooth 4.0 or Low Energy, pairs with the driver’s phone. Bluetooth Classic and Wi-Fi adapters need the module. It is usually on the adapter’s listing.
Into the port under the dash, then pair from the app. No installer and no wiring. A module is claimed once with the code it displays.
Consumption, idle time and fault codes sit on the vehicle with everything else about it, whichever way the adapter was reached.

It is almost certainly a Bluetooth Classic adapter. Phones cannot use that profile for this, which is why the app lists it but cannot connect. The same adapter pairs with our module without any trouble.
No. The adapters are generic and you can buy one anywhere for very little. The module is optional, and it exists for the adapters a phone cannot reach and for vehicles with no driver phone in them.
OBD-II has been mandatory on petrol cars in most markets since 2001, and on diesels shortly after, so almost certainly yes. The protocol is detected automatically when you pair.
Not yet. It is in development and is not available to order. Email support@fleeturio.com if you would like to be told when it ships. Everything described elsewhere on this page works today.
These adapters draw very little. If a vehicle is going to stand for a long period the adapter unplugs in seconds, like any other accessory.
If it speaks BLE you need nothing else, and everything else in Fleeturio works with no adapter at all. Free to start.
