Idle time

The fuel that goes nowhere.

An engine running at a pickup point burns fuel and produces no kilometres. Idle time is measured per vehicle and per driver, which usually turns out to be the cheapest thing in the fleet to fix.

Step 01

Buy any OBD adapter

A standard Bluetooth ELM327-compatible adapter, from anywhere. There is no Fleeturio hardware to buy and nothing proprietary.

Step 02

Plug it in and pair

Under the dash, then pair once with the driver’s phone. No installer, no wiring, and it moves to another car in seconds.

Step 03

Read what the engine says

Consumption, idle time and fault codes arrive with the driver’s other records and sit on the vehicle alongside them.

Which adapter do I need?

Any standard Bluetooth OBD-II adapter — the common ELM327-compatible ones. Nothing is locked to a brand and nothing is bought from us.

Will it work on my cars?

OBD-II has been mandatory on petrol cars in most markets since 2001 and diesels shortly after, so almost certainly yes.

Is this the same as a tracker?

No. A tracker is fitted and reports position; this reads the engine and moves between cars in seconds. Location comes from the phone, free.

Does it drain the car battery?

These adapters draw very little, and can be unplugged in seconds if a vehicle is standing for a long period.

What happens with a fault code?

It is read, explained in plain language, and raised against the vehicle like any other fault — so it goes through the same triage and repair record.
